The Iranian national team suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat against Brazil in the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup on Sunday.
Four-time world champions Brazil were forced to come from 2 goals down to win against a lively Iran side.
Amir Hossein Akbari gave Iran a second minute lead, before Fernando equalised for Brazil, only 21 seconds. Akbari grabbed his second and Mohammad Ahmadzadeh also added to the scoreline, giving Iran a 3-1 lead against the Brazilians inside 5 minutes.
Brazil’s Bruno Xavier converted a penalty before Bokinha’s strike ensured the South American’s went into half time on level terms.
Mauricinho pounced goal-bound shot to put the Brazilian’s ahead and seal the 3 points.
Iran must now beat Mexico in order to qualify from Group C.
